2015 - St. Catherine St, Cupar – Site Redevelopment Project.
Following the demolition of the former ATS garage, spectacular views of the Georgian façade of the County Buildings have been opened up. Local community groups, including CNFPS, expressed strong concerns to Fife Council regarding the future development of this key site in Cupar town centre.
The Society agreed to fund a project to look at the options with a view to finding a practical solution for the future of the site. The community groups did not approve of Fife Council’s solution to development of the area.
Tom Morton of ARC architects was commissioned to consider possible solutions. The scheme produced on behalf of CNFPS is a concept, not a final detailed design. This envisages development on the north side of the site leaving open views around the corner, and creating a small piazza at the level of St Catherine Street. No final use of the buildings has been determined; however the development could provide a mix of commercial and residential units; or other uses appropriate to this town centre location.

The second meeting of the community groups tiis place in the County Hall Cupar on 13th of October. The group meeting originally convened by the Cupar and North Fife Preservation Society (CNFPS) was well attended.
